Edward Revil, b 1770-1780 per 1830 census. First appears in the area in 1810 Worcester MD census. Probably in Bishopville In 1820 he is in Sussex next to Elizabeth {widow of John J. McCabe, bro of Arthur} and Arthur McCabe, therefore in Selbyville area. In 1830 Sussex census, Edward Revil is living next to Isaac Murray, then Ephraim Revil {correction: then Purnal Timons, then Ephraim} on other side, is who I think is Edward Revils son, then many Campbells, then Arthur McCabe. So, I think Edward is living same house, a Campbell possibly bought land & placed their family there 1820-1830. {John Campell Sr., the oldest Campbell in this group was in Sx since 1790 as was Wm, perhaps brothers.[de Valinger's Reconstruced Census] I think John was fa of Eli who fathered James here and Hetty who m Colburn Hudson here; Robert Campbell here may have been Eli's brother. Robert m Hester LNU. Most of Arthur McCabe's children married children of the Wm Campbell (above) and all those McCabe/Campells were in OH before 1830. Some of the men on this page married Longs and Buntings.} **{Edward Revil m Sarah [Edward and Sarah Revel, son Peter Whaley b 27 Feb1804, Register of St. Martin's Parish (Som/Wor MD):1722-1839/40, p20]. I speculate that this Sarah was dau of Isaac Murray. I think Isaac Murray, 1830 census, was son of a Peter. I further speculate that Purnal Timons (Purnell Timmons), son of Esau, 1822 Wor will [Nabb] married dau of Edward Revel[age 1810 census].Purnell not found in 1840 or later census. The mother of Purnal Timmons may have been Ann Purnell who m Isaac Murray 1833 in Sussex [DE Marriage records]}. In 1840 census, Edward is living next Coleburn Hudson {&Hetty Campbell} & Arthur McCabe is a few houses down. In 1840, Ephraim Revel is living over the line in Worcester MD. Ephraim born 1790-1800.I think Ephraim married a Charlotte (possibly Taylor c1807-bef1860) & had Mary Elizabeth Revil (1831-bef 1884). Mary Elizabeth married {1851} Albertus Clark. They are my 2nd great-grandparents. Neither Edward, nor Ehraim are present in 1850 census. In 1850 Charlotte Revil is marrying Nathaniel Tyson in Worcester. In 1852, Laban Taylor is selling Charlotte an acre of land for $10. Seems cheap. An early bequest???...from herfather, or a fair price for that time? Charlotte dies before 1860 & her two children Benjamin Revil & sister, Mary Elizabeth Revil Clark sell same realestate for $112. Bought 8 years earlier for $10--is why I consider it an early bequest to Charlotte possibly.
