In Pursuance of the Proprietaries Warrant of resurvey dated at Philadelphia the
30th day of April 1776 (Granted?) James Murray late of the County of Worcester 
in the Province of Maryland, but now of Sussex County upon Delaware on a Tract 
of Land called MURRAYS ADDITION containing 50 Acres of Land Originally granted 
to said James Murray now called NEW ADDITION* bounded as followeth vizt.

Beginning at a Mkd.[marked] W. Oak standing by a Road that Leads unto Cypress 
Swamp the Bounder of the Original Tract afs.[aforesaid] thence North 18 deg. 
East 32 - to a post? on the South side of a Drean [Drain=Ditch] 
South 62 deg. West 76 - to a Gum South 27 deg. West 6 - 
to a W. Oak a corner of Benjamin Long’s Land
South 72 deg. West 28 - to a W. Oak South 50 deg. West 32? – 
to a Mapole [Maple] in a Swamp South 18 deg. East 6 - to a Sasafraz.  
South 80 deg. East 67? -
to a R. Oak the first corner of David Murrays Land called Bush** South 10 deg. 
West 100 -....(many directions not transcribed in this section: to a Pine, to a 
post, to a Holly, to a Mapole, to a post, to a Mapole, to a Gum, to a Mapole,
to a post? at the West Line Thence with D. North 29 deg....
to a post? Near a tract of land called Pleasant Grove thence with D. North 13 
deg. West -....
to a Mapole at the line of John McCabee’s Land South 74? deg....
to a R. Oak the first corner of John McCabee’s Land North 9 deg....
to a Mapole standing on the North side of Sandy Branch North 23 deg....
to a W. Oak Standing in the forks of Sandy Branch  North 51 deg....
At the County Road that Leads from Snow Hill to Frames’s Due North...
Containing in the whole 276 Acres of Land vizt 45 Acres Pattent Land and 231 
Acres Vacancy with the Allowance of 6 - cont(?)

*It is unclear whether the name was meant to revert to Addition or be New 
Addition because the word "new" is not capitalized in the original survey 
document.

**Bush 22A patented Worcester 1755 by James Murray Sr., dec'd by 1774 (no 
estate record found, father of David and James Jr.); apparently David was 
considered the owner of Bush in 1776. 

n.b., this property of James Murray Jr. was surveyed 3x:
1. at time of original patent in 1760 by Wor. MD –name ADDITION, 50 A
2. by PA in April 1776—name MURRAY’S ADDITION, 50A 
3. by Sussex DE  29 June 1776—name NEW? ADDITION, 276 A (vacant land next to 
original patent was added)
