Alexander Lynch: In Nov. 1731 he was willed "Friend's Assistance" by John Taylor of Accomac Co.VA, son of Robert Taylor. The land was on north side of St. Martin's river in Somerset Co. Alexander is on the Baltimore Hd. Somerset Co. tax list from 1730 to 1740 (Russo). He is also mentioned as the next of kin of John Linch, Sr.(Skinner, v.6, p. 51) and is executor of an inventory of John's estate held in 1736 (ibid p.61). Throughout the 1740s and 1750s he served as an appraiser and witness of several wills (Skinner, passim). He served with Abraham1 Linch in Capt. Joseph Miller's Company in 1749 (Muster Rolls Box 1, folder 18). In 1755 pews he held pew #8 in Prince George's Chapel in St. Martin's parish of Wor. Co. In 1761 he held pew #16 at the new St. Martin's Church. He died in Worcester Co. in 1765. His will (probated in 1767) lists sons LEVI, REUBEN, wife Esther, Grandsons Reuben and Caleb West and CALEB Linch, daughters Sarah and Molly. Esther was probably the daughter of the above John Taylor. He left Levi 100 a. and Reuben 200 a. of "Friend's Assistance" (Ruth Dryden's Land Records of Wor. Co.). Reuben: Son of Alexander, bro. of Levi. Inherited 200 a. of "Friend's Assistance" in Baltimore. Hd. from his father in 1767 (Wor. Co. Will Bk. 36, p.68). Witness to will of Ann Tull in 1768 (Wor. Co. Wills from 1666). Son Caleb. Wife was Hannah Mumford, dau. of William and Ann Merriday Mumford of Wor. Co. (Wor. Co. Will Bk. f. 247-248; Marriage card file, Annapolis). He owned land on/at St.Martin's (river?) near Synapuxon in 1780 (op. cit.). He possibly died before 1790 since he's not on Worcester Co. census nor on Sussex Co. tax lists in 1790. Caleb: Son of Reuben, grandson of Alexander (MD Will Bk.36 p.68). In 1788 he sold 17 acres of land to John Tull (Dryden). He is on the Md census of 1790 in Wor. Co. He has two males in his household over 16 and one under 16 as well as two females. In 1795 he mortgaged 170 a. of "Friend's Assistance", part of which was in DE and part in MD, to Littleton Robbins (ibid). He's not on either the DE or MD census of 1800.
