Mary S. Rickards, 91, of Selbyville passed away Monday, May 24, 2010, at Beebe 
Medical Center in Lewes, Del. She and her husband had owned and operated Rickards 
Market, Sussex Gas Co. and Rick’s Laundromat, all in Selbyville, Del. She was a 
member of Salem United Methodist Church in Selbyville, Del.

Rickards was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Florence (Mumford) 
Stephens; and her husband, Elwood B. Rickards. She is survived by three sons, 
Elwood B. “Rick” Rickards of Fairview, Texas, John D. Rickards of Fairfax, Va., 
and G. Edward Rickards of Roxana, Del.; a daughter, Nancy R. Page of Selbyville, 
Del.; one sister, Florence Bixler of Selbyville, Del.; 10 grandchildren and 11 
great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was set for Saturday, June 5, 2010, at noon at Redmen’s 
Cemetery in Selbyville, Del., with the Rev. Fred Duncan officiating. Donations may
