Thelma J. Pomeroy (1920 - 2011) PITTSVILLE — Thelma J. Pomeroy, 90, of Pittsville died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Thelma was born Dec. 24, 1920, in Willards to the late Arthur and Cornelia Jones. She worked at Pomeroy's in Selbyville from the time she was married until she was 85 years old. She was a longtime member of St. Mary's In The Field Episcopal Church in Selbyville. Thelma's whole life was her work and her church. For the past seven months, she resided at Delmar Manor in Delmar. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn A. Pomeroy Jr.; a brother, Jack C. Jones; and two sisters, Hazel Nepert and Iva Shockley. She is survived by nieces, Dorothea J. Robinson and her husband, James, of Pittsville and Anna Lee Hastings of Salisbury; nephews, Donald Shockley and his wife, Linda, of Salisbury, John Pomeroy of Selbyvile and Lynn Pomeroy of Selbyville; and a sister-in-law, Jeanette Pomeroy of Selbyville. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Wicomico Memorial Park at 721 Snow Hill Road in Salisbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Martin's In The Field Episcopal Church, PO Box 697, Selbyville, Del. 19975 or Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, Mount Pleasant Road, Willards, Md. 21874.
