Lacey B. Murray, Sr. [Published in The News Journal on September 7, 2011] Age 86, of Selbyville, DE, died Sunday, September 4, 2011, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born in Whaleyville and was the son of the late Curtis W. and Lillie Mae (Baker) Murray. He had worked for the Delaware Division of Natural Resources and Enviromental Control for 25 years, retiring as a Superintendent in the State Park system. Prior to DNREC, he was a farmer and school bus driver. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and the Improved Order of Redmen, Wissachickon #20 both in Selbyville. He was a former member of the Selbyville Lions Club. He is survived by his wife, Carmetah Lewis Murray of Selbyville, a son, Lacey B. Murray Jr. and his wife Shirley of Whaleyville; 2 granddaughters, Lora Luzier and Stacey Howard; 4 great-grandchildren, Nicole, George, Griffin and Eva; 3 Godchildren, Derrick Moore, Erika LeCates and Carla Mason and a special niece Sandra Wolstenholme. He was preceded in death by a brother, Welton Murray; a sister, Juanita Simpler; 2 half-brothers, Rex Murray and Billy Murray and a half-sister, Madeline Clay. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 9, at 1 pm, at Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville where friends may call Friday from 11 am-1 pm. Burial will be in Redmen's Cemetery in Selbyville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be to Selbyville Vol. Fire Co., P.O.
