SELBYVILLE — Chester J. McCabe, 91, of Selbyville died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at home. He was born in Bishopville and was a son of the late Luther and Mae (Campbell) McCabe. He had been a custodian for the Indian River school district and he served in the U.S. Army in central Europe during World War II. He is survived by two brothers, Calvin McCabe and George McCabe, both of Dagsboro; a stepson, Floyd MeGee of Georgetown; three stepdaughters, Bonnie King of Georgetown, Bessie Banks of Central, S.C., and Teresa Patterson of Dagsboro. He is also survived by several stepgrandchildren and great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Hilda E. McCabe, in 1993 and his second wife, Myrtle S. McCabe, in 2006. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville with the Rev. James Van Der Wall officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
