GEORGE “BUN” W.R. MARVEL

George “Bun” W.R. Marvel, 93, of Selbyville, died Sunday October 12, 2008, at
his residence.

He was born July 14, 1915 in Georgetown, to the late Charles J. Marvel and
Catherine “Cassie” (Green) Marvel.

Marvel graduated from Georgetown High School in 1934. On March 23, 1940 he
married Althea Pepper. Together he and his wife operated a farm in Bayville. He
was a member of Sound United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Imogene Thompson; grandson, Phillip Thompson
and his wife Jodi; two great-grandchildren, Gunnar and Kylie; and a sister,
Margaret Peterson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of almost 65
years in 2005.

A funeral service was held October 15 at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services
in Frankford.

Burial in Roxana Cemetery in Frankford.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in George’s
Memory to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE. 19963 or
Sound U.M. Church, c/o Roxana U.M. Church, 35901 Zion Church Rd, Frankford, DE.
