Long, Jeanne W. SELBYVILLE -- Jeanne W. Long, 89, of Selbyville died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at the Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Wilmington to the late Robert B. and Esther Collins Williams. She was a first-grade elementary school teacher for the Indian River School District for 36 years, retiring in 1976. She was a graduate of the University of Delaware and a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Selbyville and Sussex Pines Country Club in Georgetown. She was an avid golfer, oil painter, bridge player and reader. She is survived by daughters Judith L. Cullen and her husband, Rick, of Delmar, Md., and Linda J. Roberts and her husband, Paul, of Panama City, Panama; brother, Rodney C. Williams of West Dover, Vt.; four grandchildren, David Frey, Matthew Frey, Jonathan Frey and Lee Cullen; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elisha E. "Cutter" Long, in 1985 and a brother, Robert B. Williams. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville, where friends may call one hour prior. The Rev. Dr. Bruce Cooke will officiate. Interment will be in Redmen's Cemetery in Selbyville. Donations may be made to Phillip C.
