SALISBURY, MD-Preston Sidney Johnson, 83, of Salisbury died at his home Saturday Feb. 1, 2014. Born in Selbyville, Del., he was the son of the late Sidney and Brinda Mariner Johnson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Nathalie; a son Hubert; and two sisters Kathaleen Robinson and Dorothy Watson. Preston was a traveling Evangelist in his earlier years and a minister at the Church Of God on Roger street. He was a Master Well Driller with Wotten Well Drilling and later owned and operated Johnson's Well Drilling for twenty-four years. Preston loved baseball and softball and coached the Delmarva Evangelistic Church team for eighteen years. He supported the Delmar Little League and the Shorebirds as well as Travel Baseball, where he was known as the Granddad to the entire team. He was their greatest Cheerleader! Preston loved gardening and taking care of his yard. He is survived by two sons Roger (Lisa) Johnson, Dwight (Kathy) Johnson; a brother Wayne (Linda) Johnson; grandchildren Christopher (Jessica) Johnson, Jaimi (Jordan) Cannon, Ashley (Nathan) Paugh, Jordan (Michele) Johnson, Catrina (Roberto) Martinez and Tyler Johnson. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren Savanah, Hailey, Caiden, Noah, Logan and Connor. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Delmarva Evangelistic Church on Gordy Rd., in Salisbury. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held in Springhill Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hebron. In lieu of lowers contributions may be made to Coastal Hospice P.O. Box 1733 Old Ocean City Road, Salisbury, MD. 21804.
