Frances Downs Hudson, 104

Frances Downs Hudson, 104, of Selbyville, Del., died Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at
Berlin Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Berlin, Md.
Hudson had been a secretary for the former Morris Poultry Farm and Hatchery in
Bishopville, Md. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Selbyville,
the Selbyville Community Club and Friends of the Selbyville Public Library. She
enjoyed cooking for friends and family, and playing bridge.

Hudson was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph G. and Charlotte E. (Butler)
Downs; husband, Arthur R. Hudson; brothers, Elmer and Preston Downs; and sister,
Nevada Hastings. She is survived by nieces Hilda “Kelly” Wood, Barbara Littleton
and Elinor Lynch, all of Berlin, and Kathleen Wasserman of Houston, Texas;
nephews, Richard Downs of Virginia Beach, Va., and Joseph Downs of Ocean City,
Md.; sister-in-law, Nina Downs of Berlin, Md.; and several great-nieces and great-
nephews.

The family extended special thanks to Sherita Taylor for her loving care.

A funeral service was scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at Hastings Funeral
Home in Selbyville, Del., with burial to be in Redmen’s Cemetery in Selbyville.
